Standard Microscope Eyepiece Pickup Points

The eyepiece pickup point is on the intermediate image focal plane for a compound microscope, as shown in the diagram below.

For a tube length 'TL', we can define this point's location by distances within the microscope body tube:
'D1' down from from the top of the tube or 'D2' up from the objective shoulder.
Note: - TL = D1 + D2
