Mosquito Larvae
A collection of photomicrographs, articles and notes for these readily observed larvae - commonly referred
to as "wrigglers".
A fascinating section from Robert Hooke's 'Micrographia' is included, in which
he describes this water-insect as "a most curious creature" - from his observations with a microscope back in the 1660s.
Also, his illustrations (drawings, not photomicrographs) contain extraordinary detail.
